Edo Governor: Civil Servants Will Suffer if Ighodalo Loses – Obaseki

Must Read

The outgoing Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has given a warning. He said that civil servants will be the first ones to suffer if his chosen candidate, Asue Ighodalo, does not win the governorship election next Saturday.

According to DAILY POST, Governor Obaseki gave this warning during a thank-you meeting with public servants at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City.

Governor Obaseki said that the best way for civil servants to thank him is to come out on Saturday and vote for Asue Ighodalo.

He said, “I came to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You helped me achieve many things. Those who want to take power by any means are not knowledgeable and have never worked in good places. This is risky for our democracy and development. They don’t know what to do. They can’t even read a balance sheet. They just talk about federal power. Edo State will face big problems if we make a mistake on Saturday. Any mistake will affect you first. You will be the first to suffer.”

Governor Obaseki continued, “What I have started is a long journey. We need to build our society so that we don’t have to travel to other countries. We need to make Edo a state where people are proud to come. Governance should help us achieve these goals. The journey must not stop. The engine of development must continue to run. We need to make the right decision on Saturday. We can’t afford any mistakes.”

The governor also thanked Asue Ighodalo for agreeing to take over from him. He said this is a great thing.

He also mentioned that Edo State is rich in human and natural resources, but there is still much work to be done.

Governor Obaseki said that when he took office, he decided to be the last governor to use paper. He noted that today, Edo’s public servants use technology more than any other state in Nigeria.

Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), praised Governor Obaseki for his achievements. He said, “Edo State public service is the best in Nigeria. Obaseki has done great work, and I will continue from where he left off. You all will be my priority. We will work together to make Edo state better.”

Ighodalo added, “We will not be a lazy government. We will build on the foundations laid by Obaseki. One of the worst things that can happen is having a bad leader, but Edo State will not have that. If we vote for the wrong person, our economy will suffer. This will not happen in Edo.”

Ighodalo urged everyone to come out and vote and to protect their votes.
