Edo: FRSC confirms the death of two people in a traffic accident

The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Cyril Mathew, has confirmed the death of two persons in a road accident in the state.

Newslodge reports that the sector commander said the accident occurred at Ikhinero community on the Benin-Agbor highway.

Mathew said four other passengers in the affected vehicles also suffered injuries of varying degrees.

The sector commander, who attributed the accident to excessive speed, said that three vehicles were involved in the crash.

According to him, the accident occurred at around 6:10 p.m. on the Benin-Agbor road, next to the Guinness depot, due to speed.

“Six people were involved in the accident, including two adult men and four adult women. Two people died and four others were injured.

“The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment while the deceased were deposited in the morgue,” he said.

However, he urged motorists to drive safely, obey traffic rules and regulations, avoid night travel and drunk driving and fasten seat belts to reach their destinations safely during Christmas.
