The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, has called for the support of the people of the state to enable the Senator Monday Okpebholo-led administration to sustain its ongoing development gains in the 18 council areas of the state. .
Idahosa, in a statement backed by his Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, made the call during the homecoming reception organized for his election victory by his community in Iguobazuwa, Ovia South West Local Government Area of the State.
The former member of the House of Representatives told the mammoth crowd at the occasion that the Okpebholo administration wanted to change the narratives in the state.
Thus he assured his federal constituents of the continuation of the transformation of the area through infrastructure development, which he began while he was in the Green Chamber.
Dedicating his victory to God, Idahosa said: “It is a great honor and privilege to be here today, seeing the caliber of the people and with this great crowd, to thank God for giving his son, the first elected deputy governor of the State of Edo of the Iguobazuwa community.
“To assure everyone, this is not a coincidence but a providence of God, and is not taken for granted. By His grace, this opportunity will be used for the benefit of the people of the state at large and you, my people.
“Let me also take this opportunity to thank the Executive Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for finding me, his son, worthy of being his running mate.
“Let me, on behalf of my director, thank all the members of our party, our community leaders, who were with us during the time of the elections, and assure them that, by the grace of God, every promise we made during the campaign, we will comply.
“To my community, Iguobazuwa, this is where I was born and raised; “You will not be forgotten.”
He reiterated the governor's promise to lead a government that includes everyone by taking a bottom-up approach to take the administration's policies down to the grassroots level.
“The elections are over; I am not deputy governor of APC; I am the deputy governor of the people of Edo state.
“Lastly, let me thank the Omo N'Oba N'Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II. Thank you very much my community for receiving me and by the grace of God I promise that I will make you feel proud,” he stated.
In his speech, the Clan Chief of the community, Pa. Edward Edoghayeobare Igbinovia, expressed gratitude to God for the electoral victory of his son, the Deputy Governor of Edo State.
He noted that the celebration marks a significant step in the development process of the Iguobazuwa community and the state in general.
