Edo Community Enlists Traditionalists to Place Curses on Vandalized Police Station

Must Read

The older people and folks from a place called Ugbineh in Edo State are really upset because someone broke into their police station.

To show how serious they are, they asked special people from their culture to call on their gods and set curses on the bad guys who did this. It’s like when a kid tells their parents about a bully, but in this case, they’re asking big magical helpers for justice.

This police station they talk about isn’t just another building. Everyone in the community helped to make it happen, like when all your friends come together to build a sandcastle. Sadly, someone came along and messed it up before it was even finished.

Two important people they asked for help are special priests named Ayelala and Sango.

These priests did some interesting, magical ceremonies. They asked the spirits of the past to come and teach those who broke into the station a lesson.

What did these bad guys take? They snatched furniture and electrical stuff, kind of like stealing toys and gadgets from a playhouse.

To show how serious this is, the priests walked through their village and did some special things with animals at certain important spots.

One of the wise grandpas in the village, named Pa Sunday Iyoha, said it’s really bad that someone tried to wreck the police station.

Grandpa Iyoha explained that the police station was super important to keep everyone safe from bad folks around their homes.

He said, “We were just about to open this amazing place, and then came the troublemakers who made a mess of it, swiping all the shiny new wires and gadgets we had put in!”
