Edo: APC Not Responsible for PDP Crisis, Says Oshiomhole

Must Read

Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has clarified that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not involved in the problems with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election in Edo State.

Oshiomhole explained that the law does not allow the APC to meddle in the issues between PDP members during their primary election.

The Federal High Court in Abuja canceled the PDP primary elections that had picked Asue Ighodalo as their governorship candidate for Edo State. The court decided this because 378 delegates were wrongly left out of the election on February 22, 2024.

Talking to reporters yesterday in Abuja, Oshiomhole said, “This is only about PDP’s internal matters, and the lesson here is clear. Parties must follow the rules for conducting primaries.”

“According to the law, one party cannot interfere with another party’s internal conflicts in court.”

“You should forget about it because this issue is PDP against PDP. The law says another party can’t step in. So if it suits them to say that, you can ignore it without asking me.”

“It’s no secret that there were problems in Edo before and after their primaries. Everyone knows about the disputes.”

“The PDP legacy group complained that the person they put in charge has now kicked them out. They are left out in the rain, and currently, they are still trying to resolve this issue,” Oshiomhole added.
