The North Central Development Agenda (N-CDA) has approved a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
The group expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing Senator Akume as SGF, describing it as a well-deserved appointment.
Led by Ademu Adams, the group praised President Tinubu's leadership direction and acknowledged the reforms being implemented to turn around the economy, despite teething problems.
The Central-North Development Agenda recognized the working partnership between President Tinubu and Senator Akume, highlighting their shared commitment to democracy and good governance.
They expressed faith in the duo's ability to drive growth and development in the region.
The group also called on state governors to wisely use the post-subsidy removal funds to make life more bearable for ordinary Nigerians.
They also welcomed President Tinubu's initiative to engage state governors in measures to cushion the effects of the post-subsidy phase-out.
“The reforms that President Tinubu is driving in the Nigerian economy may be truly painful at this material time, but we continue to have unwavering faith that the fruits will soon begin to bear fruit on our nation’s tree,” the statement read.
“As Mr. President has said several times, the measures he took were inevitable, since the country's economy had been subject to detrimental deterioration from one successive administration to another before his arrival, and it was a matter of courage to take the measures that he has taken. to start changing things.

“No doubt, the process has brought untold pain and hardship to Nigerians, including us and our families, but we acknowledge the fact that there could have been no other way to avoid the situation, with the removal of subsidies on petroleum products leading the way. the list of problems. those necessary recovery measures.
“At this stage, we add our voice to the call on state governors to wisely utilize the huge post-subsidy removal funds that Presidency Tinubu is making available to them to make life bearable for ordinary Nigerians in their various states.
“Mr President's initiative to centrally involve state governors in measures to cushion the effects of the removal of subsidies on Nigerians is very welcome and, if properly managed, should serve to anchor the public welfare plans promoted by the federal government that focus on a deliberate and direct way to reach ordinary Nigerians through cash transfers and student loans, among other measures.”
Furthermore, the Central-North Development Agenda called for the creation of the Central-North Development Commission, to guarantee parity with other geopolitical regions.
They noted that the region remains the most peaceful in the country and the creation of a Development Commission will bring out the strengths of its people and consolidate its role as a fulcrum of the Nigerian Federation.
