EBONYI: PDP repositioning to the power of APC Wrest, Chieftain declares

Chief Boniface Igwe, a Chief of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) on the weekend said the party was committed to strengthening the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria.

IgWe spoke at a press conference that emphasized that PDP was based on the principles of the rule of law and said the part would be stronger and more formidable in its current leadership crisis.

He praised the recent meeting of interested parties of the Southeast with the National Labor Committee of the Party (NWC) held in the National Secretariat, where the crisis that balanced the party in Ebonyi was permanently resolved.

He said that the ratification of the Federal Superior Court ruling that annulled the neighborhood, the local government and the state congresses of the party in Ebonyi was a clear indication of the strong belief of the party in the rule of law and the internal democracy of the party.

The head of the party also applauded the replacement of the Ali Odefa chief, the national vice president of southeast of southeast PDP with Chief Chidiebere Egwu.

IGWE, who echoed the feelings of other interested parties of the party in Ebonyi, said the two historical decisions had ended the leadership confrontation that had affected the party after the general elections of 2023.

He asked the party supporters, the faithful people and lovers of Ebonyi's democracy to remain firm and unwavering in their support to the PDP that emphasized that the party has repositioned to snatch the power of the ruling party of all progressive (APC) in the next general elections.

“The southeast meeting of the interested parties and the PDP NWC held on January 28 at the Wadata House has ended the crisis that took the party in Ebonyi.

“I have to congratulate the leaders and the elderly of our party to support the truth and remain committed to the ideals of the founding parents of our great party.

“The peaceful resolution of the Ebonyi crisis has shown that PDP is a party that believes in the rule of law and the internal democracy of the party,” said IGWE.

IGWE paid tribute to Chief Ifeanyichwuma Odii (Anyichuks), the candidate for governor of the party in the 2023 general elections in Ebonyi for his commitment to deepen democratic governance in Ebonyi.

“I want to congratulate the leader of our great party, Chief Ifeanyichukwuma Odii for his role in guaranteeing that the crisis in the party in Ebonyi was peacefully resolved, as well as his contribution in the promotion of democracy and democratic principles in Ebonyi and the area Southeast, “he added.

Remember that the interested parties of the Southeast PDP at a meeting with the NWC of the party confirmed the sack of the former national vice president, the southeast, the chief Ali Odefa and replaced it with the chief Chidiebere Egwu.
