A month after a famous caterer named Debbie Adene was killed in Ondo State, the police have caught her driver. Debbie was very well-known and lived in Akure.
The driver ran away after the crime, which happened in August 2024. The police have not told us the driver’s name yet.
Debbie Adene was killed in her home on July 25, 2024. She lived on Oda Road. Her driver and a 17-year-old helper named Philip Emmanuel are accused of doing it. This was just days after she celebrated her 54th birthday. Read more here.
The driver is from a place called Idanre. People think he planned the whole thing.
The helper, Emmanuel, was caught by the police and admitted that they killed her because they wanted to steal the money and gifts Debbie got on her birthday.
Now, Emmanuel is in jail at Olokuta Correctional Centre, waiting to hear what the legal experts, called the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), decide to do next.
