A district chief in the Emirate Council of Zazzau in the state of Kaduna had collapsed during an occasion when he was hurriedly taken to a hospital.
The eyewitness told journalists that “the traditional ruler was urgently taken to the General Hospital of Gambo Sawaba, Kofar Gayan Tsaria, where death was confirmed.
“Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, Alhaji Rilwan Yahaya Pate, collapsed attending an occasion along with the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, said the source.
A statement, of the media assistant at the Palace, Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, said: “With great sadness, the Emirate Council of Zazzau announces the death of Sarkin Yakin Zazzau Alhaji Rilwanu Yahaya Pate, member of the Emirate Council.
“Alhaji Rilwanu Yahaya, who also served as a councilor in charge of health -related matters, died while attending a program along with his highness, the emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Cfr, in the Hajiya General Hospital Gambo Sawaba, Kofan Gayan, Tsaria, Tsaria. this morning.”
The statement added: “The remains of the late Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, Alhaji Rilwan Yahaya Pate, have been buried in Rimin Dodo later at night, Thursday.
In a message of condolence, the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, described death as “the will of Allah” that says “death is inevitable and can come when Allah destined.”
Consoking the family, the EMIR of Zazzau described the deceased as a working, dedicated and very religious person whose emptiness will not be easily replaced.
