Must Read

A big car accident happened on the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos. Sadly, a delivery rider lost his life, but two other people were saved.

The boss of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, shared this news on Friday.

He said the accident took place near Chevron, on the way to Ikota, along the expressway.

“From our early findings, a big bus (AKD 952 XZ) lost control because the brakes stopped working. The bus was going too fast and hit a ‘KIA RIO’ car (BDG 853 DA) coming from the other side.

“The crash made the ‘KIA RIO’ hit a delivery motorcycle (KTU 695 QK) coming from the opposite direction.

“The delivery rider died right there. Two other people got bad bone breaks and were quickly taken to a nearby hospital by a kind person driving by,” he explained.

He also mentioned that police officers from Ajiwe and Ilasan Police Stations kept the area safe while LASTMA workers and other emergency helpers were rescuing people.

Mr. Bakare-Oki shared his deep sadness and support with the family of the person who died and with the two injured people.

He also asked all drivers, especially those driving big buses, to always check that their vehicles are safe to drive. Make sure your brakes work well before starting any trip, whether you are traveling inside or outside the state.
