Once a Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has spoken out strongly against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
On Sunday, Melaye said that the original founders of the party, such as Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, and Abubakar Rimi, would be very unhappy with what PDP’s current leader, Iliya Damagum, is doing to the party.
He remarked that under Damagum, Samuel Anyanwu, and Umar Bature, the once-powerful PDP is now like a shadow of itself.
Yesterday, the former senator blamed Damagum, Anyanwu, and Bature for ruining the party.
Melaye said that these three leaders have damaged the PDP beyond repair.
He also accused them of turning the party into a money-making machine for themselves.
Continuing his attack, Melaye posted on X (formerly known as Twitter): “PDP is the only party still around from the 4th Republic. It has survived for 27 years despite many problems.
“The founders like Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, and Abubakar Rimi would be very sad to see what Damagum, Anyanwu, and Bature are doing. They dreamt of a great national party, but now, the PDP is fading away.”
