The family of a retired director of the Post-Primary Education Board (PPEB), Emmanuel ofobrukueta, has requested the urgent intervention of the Police General Inspector (PGI), Kayode EGBETOKUN to guarantee its safe rescue of the den of its abductors.
In a letter addressed to the PPE and signed by the family's lawyer, lawyer Frank Tieie of Field Chambers, the family expressed serious concern about the prolonged captivity of Ofobrukueta, stating that despite the efforts of the Delta State Police command, it remains in the hands of its kidnappers more than two months after its abduction.

Going to the reporters in the name of the family, I have worried that the victim seems to have been forgotten, hence the need to beg the PPE to be directly interested in the matter.
According to the letter, Ofobrukueta, who retired six years ago, was seized by armed men on January 12, 2025, just in front of his residence in Mosogar, near Sapele in the state of Delta. The kidnapping occurred one day before he was scheduled to travel to Asaba to process and collect their pension payments.
The family feared that a coordinated network of nearby associates, rescue manipulators and real kidnappers could deliberately prolong their captivity.
Their concerns, according to them, are derived from suspicious developments that surround the payment of the rescue, which according to the reports were made only two days after their kidnapping.
The family claimed the intelligence of a private follow -up company also indicates the participation of people close to the victim.
“The Delta State Police command seems to be overwhelmed by the tactics of the kidnappers in this case,” said the letter, urging the PGI to take special measures to unravel the kidnapping and ensure the release of Ofobrukueta.
The appeal of the family was described as a 'so -called SOS' in the letter, which underlines the urgency of the situation and the growing fear for the safety of the victim. They expressed the hope that Nigeria's police force, under the leadership of the IGP, intervened decisively to end the terrible experience.
Tetie said the family now has the direct intervention of the PGI to dismantle any criminal network responsible for the kidnapping and ensure that justice is served.
“The case must be scaled and it is given the appropriate attention it requires. We believe that it would be rescued if the police in the state of Delta will display sufficient resources in terms of labor and track their movements.
“Our frustration is that they seem to have abandoned the case. That is why we are attractive. The fact that Ransome has been paid through someone when he was demanded that this be a great opportunity to break the kidnapping gang,” he said.
The lawyer said that the victim does not deserve to be abandoned to his destiny, to have served the country by meritorious.
He said that the need to address the growing kidnapping problem, since he was concerned that when the victims are not politically or prominent people in society, their cases often do not receive an expedited treatment.
