Delta Govt praise FG, guarantees total support for FMC Ovwian

The Delta state government has claimed to provide the necessary support to ensure that the successful taking of the Federal Medical Center, Ovwian, in the UDU local government area of ​​the State.

The State Health Commissioner, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, guaranteed the courtesy visit of a high -power delegation of the Federal Ministry of Health that were in the state to evaluate the site and location of the hospital.

The commissioner praised the federal government for considering the State for the establishment of the Medical Center in Ovwian for the provision of tertiary medical care, adding that the initiative was aligned with the vision of Governor Oborevwori to improve health services for its citizens.

“The truth is that every support he needs for the establishment of the FMC Ovwian, will obtain it from the state government. His excellence is very happy with the approval and due to the growing population in the UDU, Warri and UVWIE axis, the need for a tertiary hospital of that magnitude is needed in that area.

According to Dr. Onojaeme, the commitment of the current administration, since it refers to the provision of health centers and the provision of medical care for citizens was evident in the recent approval of the State Executive Council for the establishment of a hospital specialized in Osubi with the Public Laboratory and the Psychiatric Clinic in the Central Senatorial District of Delta.

He said that the newly approved specialist hospital was a step to provide medical care centers and tertiary reference in that area that has around eight areas of the local government in that senatorial district.

Member, House of Representatives representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and UDU Federal Beurnency, Hon. Francis Waive, in his comment, thanked Governor Oborevwori for his support on the establishment of the hospital since his approval by the president.

“When Mr. President emphasized this bill, I called the governor that Mr. President has just approved the establishment of the Federal Medical Center, Ovwian, and I was happy with it and congratulated me all deltanos and asked me what I will need for the establishment of the hospital,” he revealed.

The leader of the Delegation and the Director, the Hospital Services, the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, Dr. Jimoh Greetings, said they were in the state in the evaluation of the site/location and inform the minister before the start of the project.

According to him, “we are here for the State to show us a land or land landed where the hospital or an existing installation in Ovwian can be cited.
