According to the Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, spokesman for the coalition of opposition legislators, the ruling of the Supreme Court was in favor of Governor Fubara.
The decision of the court was based on the withdrawal of the governor of his appeal with respect to the 2024 budget, which had already been fully executed and implemented.
Ugochinyere emphasized that Governor Fubara's decision to withdraw his appeal was due to the fact that the 2024 budget cycle had ended, making the case debatable.
He also clarified that no court has ruled in favor of the legislators dismissed in favor of the cable and that the president of the Chamber of the Assembly of the State of Rivers, Excmo. Oko Jumbo, remains in charge.
