Music boss, Dayo ‘D1’ Adeneye, has shared a fun story about musician 2Baba, who was called 2Face before.
On the podcast ‘Deep Dive’ by funny man Teju Babyface, Adeneye talked about a concert in Ivory Coast. He said four girls fainted while 2Baba was singing on stage.
Adeneye was the boss at 2Baba’s old music company, Kennis Music. He said that back in the day, Kennis Music had more than 50 singers. This included different types of music from gospel to hip-hop and fuji.
“When Kennis Music was at its top, we had over 50 singers. We even had Lagbaja with us. We had artists from gospel, hip-hop, to fuji,” Adeneye said.
“I’ve seen girls faint at many shows when 2Face sang. On a tour in Ivory Coast, a girl came on stage, hugged 2Face, and then fainted. Altogether, four girls fainted at that show.
“These girls did not speak English but they knew all the words to his songs. This happened in a country where people speak French, yet four girls fainted just because they saw 2Face. We thought they were joking, but an ambulance had to come and take them away. They fainted because they were near 2Face.”
