Nigerian music superstars Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Tems have received nominations for the 2025 National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards.
The artistes were recognized in the nomination list for the annual event released by the organisers, according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The 56th NAACP Image Award is scheduled for February 22 at the Civic Center in Pasadena, California, United States.
Burna Boy, alongside American singer Usher, earned a nomination for “Best Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary)” for their song “Coming Home,” while “Hmmm” by Chris Brown and Davido earned a nomination for “Best International Song.” ”.
Wizkid is also competing for the same category for his hit single 'Piece of My Heart', featuring American singer Brent Faiyaz.
The song also got a nomination in the “Best International Song” category, earning Wizkid two nominations.
Star singer Tems also earned a nomination for 'Best International Song' for 'Love Me Jeje' from her debut album “Born in the Wild.”
Ayo Edebiri achieved a rare feat with five nominations, including “Best Actress in a Comedy Series,” “Best Voiceover,” while South African Grammy winner Tyla earned a nomination for “Best New Artist.”
The NAACP Image Awards celebrate the outstanding representations and achievements of people of color in film, television, music and literature.
The 2025 edition awards ceremony will air live on BET and CBS, with the theme “Our stories, our culture, our excellence,” emphasizing diversity in the entertainment industry.
