Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the economic relief brought by the crude oil for naira exchange initiative.
The policy allows local refiners to buy crude oil in naira and sell refined products locally.
In a statement on Saturday, the billionaire revealed that the strategy has not only eased pressure on the currency market but also improved the availability of high-quality oil products at lower costs.
Dangote revealed that the refinery that recently reduced fuel price from N970 to N899.50 for marketers has also partnered with MRS to sell PMS nationwide at N935 per litre.
He added that the reduced price has already come into effect in Lagos and will be implemented nationwide from Monday.

The business tycoon expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and acknowledged the efforts of the government in fostering a conducive environment for the growth of the domestic refining industry.
The statement reads in part: “To ensure that this price reduction reaches the end consumer, we have entered into a partnership with MRS to sell petrol at their outlets nationwide at N935 per litre,” he added. This price has already started in Lagos and will be offered nationwide starting Monday.
“The Dangote refinery benefits Nigeria and Nigerians. Therefore, we will continue to work with various players in the value chain to offer high-quality gasoline at cheaper prices. Our goal is for all Nigerians to have easy access to high-quality petroleum products that are good for their vehicles, good for their health and good for their pockets.”
