Cuba Revises Travel Rules to Enhance Tourism and Simplify Visitor Entry

Must Read

Cuba wants to make visiting easier and more fun!

There are new rules to help travelers who want to explore the beautiful island.

Travel updates include two big changes: the D’Viajeros online form and how long old tourist cards are good for.

These new rules aim to make it easier for people to enter Cuba and have a nicer trip.

D’Viajeros is a website where you tell Cuba about yourself and your travel plans before you arrive. This helps you get in smoothly.

Important Things To Know

The changes are good news for people who got their tourist cards before the new online system started. They now have more time to travel without worrying about their cards expiring soon.

If you got a tourist card before the e-Visa started, you can still use it later. No need to rush to Cuba before it expires. You have more time for planning!

More Time for D’Viajeros Registration

A big change is in the D’Viajeros system, where you register before going to Cuba.

Before, you had only 2 days to fill out the form before arriving. Now, starting from October 1st, 2024, you have a whole week!

The Cuba Ministry of Tourism says, “Fill out your D’Viajeros form up to 7 days before you travel for an easy entry!” This gives you more time and reduces last-minute rushing.

Tourist Cards Valid Until June

Besides the D’Viajeros update, Cuba has also decided that old tourist cards are now good for longer.

Cards given out before the e-Visa started in August 2024 were first set to expire by December 31st, 2024. Now, they can be used until June 30th, 2025.

This change makes it easier to switch from old tourist cards to the new e-Visa. It helps travel agencies too. If you have one of these cards, you have more time to visit Cuba.

What Travelers Should Know

  • The new D’Viajeros rules give you more days to send in your information. And with tourist cards being good for longer, you have more time to plan.
  • Cuba’s travel updates make visits better by being more flexible, whether it’s a quick trip or using an old tourist card.

With easier entry steps and longer deadlines, Cuba invites travelers to enjoy its amazing culture and lovely views.
