Court Approves N50 Million Bail for Traditional Ruler in Life Threat Case

Must Read

Sure, I’d be happy to simplify and rewrite this blog post:

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has given His Royal Highness, Eze Cyprian Amadi Worensu, bail of fifty million naira (N50 million). He is on trial for threatening the lives of retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli and his family.

The judge in charge, Justice Mohammed Turaki, said Eze Worensu could go on bail if two people promise to ensure he shows up for trial.

One of these people must be a high-ranking government worker (at level 16), and the other must be a top traditional ruler. Both of these people have to be approved by the Head of Service.

Justice Turaki also said that the court registrar must check the home addresses of both these people and Eze Worensu to make sure they are correct.

Before this, Eze Worensu was in front of Justice Emmanuel Obele, who did not allow bail and sent him to the Port Harcourt Correctional Facility.

Then the case was moved to Justice Turaki, who allowed bail and set the next trial date for October 16.

They say that on March 28, 2023, Eze Worensu sent a scary message to someone named Sunday Gift Chinem to frighten retired Justice Enebeli.

The charge says Eze Worensu threatened to harm retired Justice Enebeli because he wasn’t happy with a court decision made on March 20, 2023, about a chieftaincy issue with Christopher Wonodi and others.

This action is against the law under Section 24 (B.C) I of the Prohibition Prevention ETC. Act 2015.
