Argentina’s captain, Lionel Messi, scored a goal for the first time in this year’s Copa America during their match against Canada. Argentina won the game 2-0 in the semi-final on Tuesday night.

Julian Alvarez scored the first goal in the first half. Then, after the break, Messi added one more goal just five minutes in.

This was Messi’s 14th goal ever in the Copa America tournament.

Argentina, also known as La Albiceleste, is now in the final match for the second time in a row. They were also in the final in 2021.

Winning this year’s Copa America would be a big achievement for Messi and his team. It would be Argentina’s 16th Copa América title, making them the team with the most wins, pulling ahead of Uruguay.

In the other semi-final game today, Uruguay will play against Colombia.
