CNPP Alerts: 90% of Kogi State Faces No Council Election

Must Read

The group called Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, or CNPP, was not happy with the local government election in Kogi State that happened on Saturday. They said it was like making fun of how elections should work in Nigeria.

Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi, who leads CNPP in Kogi State, talked about this in a message he shared on Saturday.

He was upset with the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission. He said they pretended to have an election, but in truth, there was no real voting in Kogi State.

He said, “This is like the biggest joke of our time. We hoped that our elections would get better, but it feels like we are going backwards instead.”

“Kogi State’s election organizers have shown again that they are not good at handling local elections. What we hear is that in more than 90% of the places in Kogi State, no real voting happened,” he explained.

“The party called All Progressive Congress in Kogi State has let down the people. The people of Kogi did not get to choose their leaders,” he added.

“The government should just say directly that they are picking local leaders themselves instead of pretending to have an election. What they are doing is stopping real democracy in Nigeria, and that’s not okay.”
