Clashes break out between herdsmen and farmers in Gagarawa LGA of Jigawa over agricultural land dispute

Conflict between some herdsmen and farmers in Gagarawa Local Government Area, Jigawa State, in Tudun Fulani and Dan Nani villages

The conflict arose after Hausa farmers alleged that a non-Fulani individual entered one of their farms. This led to a confrontation in which the farmers chased the shepherd and involved local scholars.

In response, the Fulani herdsmen moved to defend their village, the village chief (Ardo) of Tudun Fulani explained.

Furthermore, a herdsman residing in Tudun Fulani, whose identity has been withheld, shared how he spent the day in hiding due to ongoing operations by security forces to capture people, including children and adults, for interrogation.

When contacted, the Jigawa State Police Command spokesperson stated that investigations are ongoing and they will provide updates as soon as the investigation is concluded.
