Cholera Outbreak in Benue: 16 Suspected Cases and Four Fatalities Reported

Benue State has sadly lost four people to what might be cholera, said the State Health Doctor, Dr. Henry Ijabo.

Talking to news people on Thursday, Dr. Ijabo said there are 16 possible cholera cases in three areas – Agatu, Otukpo, and Ado.

He said, “We have four people who may have died from cholera. Remember, these are not confirmed cases yet. We have not confirmed any cases in Benue.”

“All we have are people who might have cholera. Out of the 16 possible cases, four have died. They showed signs that look like cholera, but it’s not proven yet.”

Dr. Ijabo said that these four deaths happened while they are still checking to make sure if it is really cholera in the state.
