Must Read

Mrs. Odusote Ibukun, who used to work in the Ministry of Environment and now leads Digital Peers International, has asked Nigerians to be extra careful about cleanliness because there is a cholera outbreak happening right now.

Speaking in Abuja, Mrs. Ibukun emphasized that Nigerians should be very careful about what they drink and eat. It is important to make sure that the food and water are clean.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, also known as NCDC, has shared alarming news. They said that 63 people have died, and 2102 cases are suspected so far in this cholera outbreak. This information was reported by DAILY POST.

Dr. Jide Idris, who is the head of the NCDC, explained at a news conference in Abuja that by June 30, there were 2,102 suspected cases and 63 deaths from cholera in 33 states and 122 local government areas. The death rate from these cases is about 3%.

Mrs. Ibukun added some important advice: “Not only should we be careful with what we eat, but we should also pay attention to how we prepare it. Cleanliness is very important, and we need to remind Nigerians of this.”

She continued, “Cholera and many other diseases often come from dirty food. We advise everyone to wash their hands, especially after using the bathroom.”

“If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth so you do not spread germs to others.”

“And if you start feeling sick, act quickly to get help so that the illness doesn’t get worse and cause more problems.”
