The famous singer, Charly Boy, has shared some personal stories about his relationship with the late singer Tyna Onwudiwe.
Charly Boy said he was very close to marrying Tyna.
He mentioned there were rumors that he was the father of some of Tyna Onwudiwe’s children.
“I almost married Tyna,” he said. “One day, we talked about getting married. But I thought, no, I can’t see myself with two wives.”
“We also thought that if we got married, we might fight a lot. So we decided to stay best friends. Tyna was a great person. She would give her last dollar to help someone she didn’t even know. That’s just who she was.
“People often joked that she was my wife. They said things like, ‘Your wife has cancer.’ It was tough. I wanted a woman to help me so people wouldn’t gossip and say, ‘Isn’t she your girlfriend? Isn’t she your wife?’”
“In fact, some people thought her kids were mine,” Charly Boy clarified.
He remembered collecting money for her medical bills when she was fighting cancer, but sadly, she couldn’t beat the disease.
Tyna Onwudiwe passed away on June 29, 2001, just 17 days after she turned 47.
