Caroline Danjuma to sue Oritsefemi for claiming she married the late Tagbo

Caroline Danjuma has denied singer Oritsefemi’s claim of being married to Tagbo Umeike, a friend of singer Davido who died in 2017.

Caroline married the younger brother of former Defense Minister Theophilus Danjuma in 2007.

They had three children before divorcing in 2016.

The mother of three made headlines after revealing that the late Mr Umeike was her lover. Umeike was a friend of Davido, who died in 2017 from excessive alcohol consumption, according to autopsy reports.

Caroline, a Nollywood actress turned real estate developer, also revealed that she met him a year after legally divorcing her ex-husband.

During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Nigerian musician Oritsefemi claimed that the former model was married to Mr Umeike.

He further alleged that she influenced his ex-wife, Nabila Fash, inciting her to marry him solely for financial gain.

Oritsefemi said: “When I met Nabila, I didn’t say I wanted to marry her; I just told her that she wanted a boy. That was our agreement. I never intended to marry her. This was Caroline Danjuma. Caroline went and had a court wedding with the late Tagbo. After the wedding, she told Nabila that she had married Tagbo and that she should hurry up and marry me.

“He said I am a diamond in the rough and he has studied me very well. He said that Nabila could get anything she wanted from him and that Nabila’s success depended on me. So that was it. When he told me that he wanted to marry me, I accepted because he had had about three abortions. “We both went through a lot.”

In 2017, Oritsefemi and Fash married, but their union collapsed in 2022 due to accusations of infidelity.

Lawsuit

Caroline, a former Real Housewives of Lagos reality star, through her publicist Bodex Hungbo, threatened to sue the ‘Double Wahala’ singer and set the record straight.

“This is to address the attempt to defame our client, Dr Carolyna Danjuma Hutchings @carolynahutchings (actress producer and property developer) through a concerted effort by an unscrupulous individual known as Mr Orisefemi.

“Several unpleasant stories have recently emerged about this individual spreading false stories to defame the character of Dr. Carolyna Danjuma Hutchings, and we are not going to leave this unresolved. To clarify, Dr Carolyna Danjuma Hutchings has never been married and has children with a man who is not her ex-husband, Chief Counsel Musa Danjuma.

“Whenever she decides to remarry, if she so wishes, she will announce it personally or through her media team so that her fans and well-wishers can celebrate with her.

Furthermore, he revealed his decision to take legal action against Oritsefemi.

“Finally, our legal team will be taking legal action against Mr. Orisefemi due to these despicable claims made by the said Oritsefemi against our focused and kind client, Dr. Carolyna Danjuma Hutchings. “We are interested in the said civil marriage certificate and photographs, including all evidence, to prove his claims beyond reasonable doubt, which she boldly made in a recent podcast show.”
