Three armed suspects remain in general after a shooting in a Toronto pub in Canada left 12 people injured, the local police said.
The attack occurred at 10:39 PM on Friday (3:39 AM GMT Saturday) near the city center of Scarborough in eastern Toronto.
The authorities reported that six people suffered gunshot wounds, while others were injured by flying or broken glass. None of the injuries was potentially deadly.
Toronto police stated that the suspects, armed with an assault rifle and guns, entered the pub and “opened indiscriminately fire.”
A reason “at this time is still clear and we are chasing all potential clients,” said the Supt Police. Paul MacIntyre. When describing the incident, he added: “This was an act of shameless and reckless violence that really shook our community and the city itself.”
According to the BBC, the Police confirmed that they were deploying all the resources available to track the suspects. One of them, with a black Balaclava, was seen fleeing from the scene in a silver car. The victims had ages between 20 and 50 years.

“I am happy to inform, by the grace of God, that there have been no deaths,” supt. MacIntyre said, calling him “extremely lucky.” He described the footage of the shooting as “horrible”, saying: “These guys only looked at the crowd and opened fire. It was horrible.”
The shots shattered the glass walls, leaving “blood throughout the floor”, even in the basement, where some customers ran to hide before the police arrived, he said.
Mayor Olivia Chow expressed a deep concern about the mass shooting, telling journalists on Saturday that he was “deeply concerned” about the scale of violence. “It is worrying due to the magnitude of the shooting and the number of people injured,” he said, adding that the police had been investigating during the night and morning.
Ontario's Prime Minister, Doug Ford, also condemned the attack, writing in an X post on Saturday that completely supports the search for the Toronto Police service for suspects.
The number of victims injured in this shooting is greater than in other recent incidents in the area. In 2024, eight people were injured and two killed in shootings and firearms discharges within the same police division, according to department data.
Toronto, a city of three million people, saw 43 fatal shootings last year.
