Emem Essien, who plays for Edo Queens, is sure her team will do well in the CAF Women’s Champions League. This is a big football competition for top women’s teams.
The Edo Queens are from Benin, Nigeria. In their group, they will play against Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies from South Africa, FC Masar from Egypt, and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC.
Essien thinks her team can move to the next round, even though they have tough teams to play against.
She said, “I like our group because I believe we can make it to the next stage,” as she spoke with Nigeria Football.
“Playing against strong teams like the champions means we have to try really hard. If they weren’t in our group, it might have been easier, but I still think we can succeed,” she added.
This football contest is set to start in November, so the team is getting ready to play.
