El-Kanemi Warriors from Maiduguri will start their journey in the CAF Confederation Cup against Benin’s team, Dadje FC.
This is a big moment for El-Kanemi Warriors because they haven’t played in this tournament for over 20 years.
Their first game will be played sometime between August 16-18, 2024. The second game will be held between August 23-25, 2024.
If El-Kanemi wins against Dadje FC, they will play against RS Berkane from Morocco in the next round. RS Berkane is a former champion, so this will be a tough match.
Another Nigerian team, Enyimba, will play the winner between Guinea’s Haifa FC and Rahimo from Burkina Faso in the next round. Enyimba didn’t have to play in the first round, so they got a bye.
So far, no Nigerian team has ever won the CAF Confederation Cup. Let’s cheer for El-Kanemi Warriors and Enyimba to make history!
