The chiefs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State put aside their political differences at the Fidau prayer for Professor Wale Sulaiman's mother, Alhaja Belawu Akanke Sulaiman, held at Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area. from the state on Wednesday.
The event, which featured a variety of personalities from the major political parties in the state, was attended by political chiefs including the chairmen of APC, PPD and SDP, as well as serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies. .

Speaking on “The Importance of Fidau”, guest lecturer, Dr Yusuf Kolawole Jimoh, warned leaders to “avoid mismanagement of the economy”, while urging parents to fill the void created by mismanagement inefficient government.
The Islamic scholar also accused the leaders of “avoiding corruption and inelastic acquisition of wealth.”
He praised Professor Wale Sulaiman for his professionalism in the field of medicine and attributed his achievements to his mother's diligence.
The cleric emphasized the benefits of imparting knowledge, which he said Professor Sulaimán represents.
He also recognized Professor Sulaimán's philanthropic gestures and his commitment to training future medical professionals around the world, who, he said, would use the knowledge acquired to foster a better society.
