The residents of Olena in the ASA community, Otukpo LGA of the state of Benue, have fled from their homes after a series of attacks by alleged shepherds.
Daily Post gathered that the community has been under siege during the last four days, with several people killed and many other kidnapped.
A resident, who spoke with our reporter, confirmed that the villagers were forced to flee on Monday night when it was clear that the help would not come.
He lamented that the attackers had been terrifying the community without response for days.
“I am currently in UPU. I escaped with my family tonight. At this time, we have all unemployed to our community. Olena has been under attack for days.
“They have killed and kidnapped several people. We have been crying for help, but no security agent has come to our rescue. I barely managed to escape with my life and my family tonight.
“Olena is under a serious attack while we talk,” he said.
Our reporter also obtained video clips that showed the residents fleeing their homes on Monday night while the attacks continued.
