A gas station named Pinnacle Oil, which belongs to Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, was set on fire by unknown people.
DAILY POST found out this happened early Friday morning.
People said the arsonists came in a Toyota Corolla car to start the fire.
At least four cars nearby got burned because of the fire.
As we write this, the road leading to the gas station, called Agbani Road, is blocked by firefighters and police officers.
The police in Enugu State have confirmed this fire incident.
However, the police said the fire might have started because one of the cars in line to buy fuel was leaking gasoline.
A police spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, shared this news in a statement.
He said, “A fire happened at Pinnacle Gas Station on Agbani Road, Enugu, early on Friday, September 20, 2024.
“The fire was quickly put out with help from federal and state firefighters who came right away.
“No one died. But three cars in line to buy fuel did catch fire. The police have now made the area safe again.
“It looks like the fire might have been caused by fuel leaking from one of the cars at the gas station.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, who visited the site, has told the Deputy Commissioner of Police to investigate the incident fully.”
