Bovi: Women Dominate the Entertainment Industry

Must Read

Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma says that women are the bosses in the entertainment world.

He talked about this on a TV show called ‘Your View’ not long ago.

Bovi pointed out that women often speak up for fairness, even in places where they are already leaders because they are used to asking for equal treatment.

He said, “Women sometimes don’t realize that, in some areas, they have already won the fight for fairness because they are used to fighting for it.”

“When we look at the entertainment world, women have a lot of control. Even 10 to 15 years ago, I noticed women were in charge. What exactly are we discussing?

“If we talk about key figures like Amaka Igwe, Funke Akindele leads with the biggest movies. Mo Abudu isn’t far behind. Many of the top producers are women like Bolanle Austin-Peters and top directors like Jade Osibero and Kemi Adetiba. The largest film festival is organized by Chioma Ode. So what’s the argument?

“We also have talented women like Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo, and Genevieve Nnaji making waves. So it’s clear to see; women are in the driver’s seat in entertainment. If young girls face issues with male producers, they should speak up. You’ve got the power in this field.”
