Bobrisky Sues VeryDarkMan for N1bn Over Alleged N15m Bribe

Must Read

Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has taken legal action against an internet figure named VeryDarkMan (VDM). This was because of an audio clip VDM posted on social media.

The audio allegedly features Bobrisky talking to another person. In the recording, Bobrisky supposedly talks about bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to drop some charges against him earlier this year.

The clip also suggests that some officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) allowed Bobrisky to serve a six-month jail term outside the prison.

However, Bobrisky denies this audio is real. He claims it was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is not his voice.

On Sunday, Bobrisky shared a letter from his lawyers on his Facebook page. The letter asks VeryDarkMan to delete the audio clip right away. They also want him to publicly apologize in two national newspapers. Additionally, they demand a video apology from VDM that must be posted on all his social media accounts.

The legal suit also asks VeryDarkMan to stop saying bad things about Bobrisky and to pay N1 billion in damages within 24 hours.

Part of the letter from Bobrisky’s lawyers reads, “We ask, on behalf of our client, for a written apology in two national daily newspapers, a video recording of your apology to our client shared on all your social media platforms, a promise to stop posting defamatory content against our client, and the payment of N1,000,000,000 in damages within 24 hours of this letter via social media or any other means.”
