Benue State’s leader, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, voted in the local government elections in his hometown of Mbagul, located in Vandiekya.
He went to vote on Saturday, while many people also came to vote like him.
Earlier, the governor had announced that Friday, October 4, 2024, would be a day off from work so everyone could get ready for the elections.
The governor shared that he wanted people to have enough time to go back to their areas to vote, that’s why he made the day a holiday.
He thanked the people of Benue for following the plan and taking part in the voting.
The governor feels sure that if people are serious and join in, just like he saw in many areas, the elections will go well and be fair all the way through.
He reminded everyone about the importance of being peaceful and working together while voting, saying how important it is for everyone to be united.
