Benue: Kwande Axis declares interest in the Governor's career of 2027

This was declared at a press conference held in Makurdi on Thursday by a group known as “Movement for the update of the Governor of Kwande”, (Makga).

Group convector, Leonard Ikyem, declared: “We, the offspring of the dynamic, patriotic and progressive people of the intermediate area of ​​Kwande, which includes the areas of the local government of Kwande and Ushongo of the state of Benue. Desire to renew the ambition of governor of the Kwande people in 2027.

“As we all know, the democratic process in Nigeria will open another chapter in 2027 with new opportunities and we intend to mobilize our people to step forward and explore this new border.

Ikyem said that the arguments on which the Kwande axis surveyed for the highest elective position in the state, which could not be done in 2023, are still valid.

He said that the established tradition of selfless service, committed and dedicated to state people was one of the arguments.

The group said that if the axis receives another opportunity, not only will that tradition hold, but will overcome the milestones to coincide with the first executive governor of the State, Aper Aku of the blessed memory.

Ikyem, who recalled how the inhabitants of the axis repelled the merodeters in the 18th century, promised that Kwande would provide opportunities would confront the security challenges facing the State.

“Therefore, we request the support of Benue's electorate while we embark on this noble democratic search to maintain and update our ambition,” said Ikyem.
