The Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, says he doesn’t know about the meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Executive Committee (SEC). This meeting was said to be announced by Mr. Austin Agada, who used to be the state chairman of the party.
A few days ago, some online articles said the APC SEC meeting would happen on Thursday in Makurdi.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, shared this information on Thursday.
Mr. Kula stated that Governor Alia has canceled this supposed meeting. The Governor warned that if anyone tries to hold an unauthorized meeting, there will be consequences because it might disturb the peace in the state.
Gov Alia said, “I am still the leader of the APC in Benue State. No one can call an APC meeting without me knowing about it.
“Also, as the Chief Security Officer in the state, it’s my job to know when a legal gathering is happening.
“Nigeria is a country with rules, and so is Benue State.”
“Anyone who thinks they can challenge the state’s authority needs to realize this and keep the peace.”
