In line with the vision of the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, to boost tourism, the organizers of the Belle Hunting Festival in Zing Local Government Area will rename the annual event to attract greater patronage from 2026.
During a town hall presentation by Yinka Adejuwon of Twice As Much Entertainment, Mumuye Community Development Association (MCDA) Chairman Francis Boroma expressed gratitude to the company for its unwavering commitment to the project over 12 years.
“Their perseverance is finally paying off,” Boroma said. “We are excited about their plans to leverage the festival to create jobs for our unemployed youth. This is the first time that professionals have guided us in promoting our traditional events to attract visitors to the state. “His approach aligns perfectly with our governor’s priority of creating jobs for our people.”
Highlighting the statistics behind the initiative, Adejuwon noted that 65% of Taraba State's 4.2 million residents are youth, with more than 1.1 million unemployed people aged 35 years and below.
“This data drives our mission to use the festival as a platform for job creation,” Adejuwon explained. “Although I cannot yet reveal all the details, our strategies are designed to contribute significantly to the government’s ambitious target of N3 billion for tourism. In just a few months, we aim to establish 100 businesses within the creative industry, employing at least 100,000 young people during each festival season.”
The next edition of the Belle Hunting Festival is scheduled for January 30 and promises to lay the foundation for a transformative cultural and economic milestone in Taraba State.
