Alex Unusual, who was on Big Brother Naija, talked about her tough past in an interview on the Unpack podcast. She shared how her family and schoolmates treated her very bad, making her feel sad and hurt.
Alex shared stories from her high school days. She said people there called her a thief and thought she was a troublemaker.
One story she told was about her aunt hitting her for giving clean water to their pigs. She was confused because she thought it was right to give clean water to living things. But when the pigs didn’t drink it, they blamed Alex, saying she did it on purpose to harm the pigs.
Alex also said she ended up getting punished a lot. They would make her stay up all night, and she would be the last one to leave the hostel in the morning. So, if something went missing, they would blame her. One day in class, everyone started hitting her, asking which biscuit she ate. She hadn’t even eaten that day. But because someone said they saw her eating, they believed it.
They checked her locker and found another student’s food in her space. They beat her that day, and she called her mother to say she didn’t do it.
Even a friend asked her if she stole things without knowing it. They said she needed to go to church for prayers.
