Reality TV star, Mercy Eke, said sorry after her social media manager called Big Brother Naija housemate, Onyeka, a “gold digger.” The manager deleted a tweet that accused Onyeka of being with Ozee Mbadiwe just because he is rich.
The tweet said, “Onyeka, the gold digger, sorry to burst your bubble, there’s no gold with the twins… #BBnaija,” and it made many fans angry. They posted online to show their disappointment with what Eke’s account said.
After seeing the negative reactions, Mercy Eke apologized. She explained that she did not post the tweet herself; it was done by her manager.
Mercy wrote, “I can’t believe I woke up to this on my birthday. The person who was supposed to post nice birthday messages got involved in Big Brother Naija drama, and now I have to clean up the mess! I have moved on from Big Brother Naija, and seeing such silly opinions, especially about a housemate I like, is very upsetting. I won’t tag this person’s main page to protect them from being bullied by fans because this is very unprofessional. I apologize to Team Onyeka because this is so embarrassing coming from my account. It does not represent me or how I feel.”
