Bayelsa APC Reinstates Lokpobiri and Others After Suspension Reversal

Must Read

The Bayelsa State group from the All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided not to suspend the Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, and some other important members of the party.

This decision came after a big meeting. There were people from the party’s top team, members of the state Assembly from APC, and leaders from local areas.

They met because there was a problem about stopping important party members in different areas: Southern Ijaw, Ekeremor, Sagbama, and Yenagoa. Some important people like Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and Chief David Lyon were being suspended. Chief David Lyon also ran for governor before.

On Tuesday, October 15, the party released an important message after a news meeting at their office in Yenagoa, the main city. This message was signed by Chief Dennis Otiotio-Odoni, who is the party leader in the state, and Owutuamo Tamaranpreye, who helps as the State Secretary. They said they decided to wait on the suspensions after talking with the few APC members in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. They talked a lot about this issue and decided to think more about it and talk to other important party people.

The message also told that some people from the party talked about the bad behavior of the state Commissioner for Power, Mr. Kharin Kumoku. They said he tried to bring trouble by leading a group to try and destroy the APC’s office.

Luckily, some quick-thinking security people and party members stopped him. They want the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, to tell the commissioner to be careful.

The party also wants the Bayelsa State Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to look into what the Commissioner did and take action if needed.
