Bauchi LG Elections: APC Cautions PDP and BASIEC Against Electoral Fraud

Must Read

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has told the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) not to cheat and play fair during the election.

The APC shared this message over the weekend while introducing their candidates for the local government elections set for Saturday, August 17, 2024.

At a campaign event, the acting Chairman of APC in Bauchi State, Mohammed Hassan Tilde, spoke up. He said the party is worried that PDP might try to cheat in the elections.

“We in the APC are ready to stop any cheating by the ruling party,” Tilde said.

He also warned BASIEC not to help the current government in any cheating attempts.

Tilde told APC members, especially those who will be helping at various voting stations, to make sure they protect the party’s votes.

Tilde proudly mentioned that APC has candidates for all 20 chairperson positions and 323 councilor seats in the state. He feels confident that APC can win all the seats.

Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who represents the Bauchi South Senatorial District, also spoke. He believes APC will win if BASIEC makes sure the elections are free, fair, and honest.

He feels good about the voters choosing APC in the upcoming elections.

“The competition between the ruling party and the main opposition party has started as we get ready for the general elections in 2027,” Umar said, showing APC’s readiness for the challenge.
