A very sad event happened in Burra town, Bauchi State. A Correctional Officer killed another officer over a small disagreement about food.
This terrible incident happened on Tuesday around 2 PM in Burra town, which is in Ningi Local Government Area.
An eyewitness, who did not want to share their name, said that the officer who died, Aliyu Abubakar Chiroma, and the officer who hurt him, Kabiru Abubakar, were good friends at work.
The problem started when Chiroma brought his lunch, and Kabiru insisted that he wanted to eat it. This made them argue a lot.
The spokesperson for the correctional center, Aminu Ahmed, told our reporter that the event happened outside of the correctional center.
Ahmed also said that Chiroma was from Giade LGA and Kabiru is from Dass LGA. Both officers worked at the Burra Correctional Centre.
Ahmed mentioned that Chiroma’s body has been given to his family for burial, and Kabiru is now with the police as they try to understand what happened.
