Sad Events in Katsina State

Some bad men, likely bandits, attacked Mr. Salisu Ango’s home in Gyaza village. Mr. Salisu works for Governor Umar Dikko Radda. They killed him and his first wife.

Mr. Salisu was the head of the teachers’ group in Kankia before. The bad men also took his second wife away.

Another event happened in Kankia too. On Saturday night, the bad men attacked Tashar Gamji community. They went from house to house, taking many animals.

People living there said the bad men also took food and other valuable things.

In a different village called Shirgi, bad men attacked again. They killed one person, hurt another, and kidnapped 28 more.

They also took animals from the village.

One person from Shirgi, who did not want to reveal their name, said the bad men came on Sunday night. They mostly attacked women and children. They killed a man named Amadu Suru, who was trying to protect his animals.

The Katsina State Police have confirmed these attacks. They know about what happened in Kankia, but are still checking the details about the Shirgi attack. They will share more information after they hear back from the local police in Batsari.
