A group of gang members who used to follow a bandit leader named Kachalla Nagala attacked their rival, Kachalla Mai Shayi, and his men.
This happened between two villages, Buroyi and Buzaya, near a place called Sangerawa in the Bini district, located in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
On Monday, an expert on fighting terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin, named Zagazola Makama, shared this news on his social media account, X.
Makama said that Kachalla Mai Shayi and 12 of his followers were killed in this attack.
He also mentioned that Kachalla Mai Shayi was an important helper of another well-known bandit leader named Kachalla Yellow Mai Bille.
“It looks like this ambush is part of a series of revenge attacks among bandit groups in the forest areas of Zamfara,” Makama explained.
“The trouble started after Kachalla Yellow Mai Bille killed Kachalla Nagala, which led to ongoing fights among the different gangs.
“Now, the followers of the late Kachalla Nagala seem to be targeting Yellow Mai Bille, Sojan Zakwaui, and Yellon Emir to get back at them for their leader’s death,” Zagazola posted on X.
He also added that the increasing violence between these groups continues to take the lives of bandits, including their leaders.
Hope this helps you!
