Kachallah Dan Isihu, one of the most notorious bandits leaders in northwest Nigeria, has been killed in a specific military operation by troops of Operation Fansan Yanma.

The operation, which combined air bombings and terrestrial assaults, culminated in the elimination of Dan Isihu and dozens of their combatants, marking a significant blow to bandit in the region.

For years, Dan Isihu terrified the states of Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna parts, orchestration raids, kidnappings and cattle whisper activities. Its terror reign also included the security forces ambushed and raised illegal taxes of the villagers.

He was involved in the kidnapping of passengers on a train to Kaduna, receiving an amazing rescue of N8 billion from negotiations. During Ramadan, Dan Isihu was known for intensifying his attacks, killing at least one person every day.

Zagazola Makama informs that the military operation to stop or neutralize Dan Isihu began after intelligence tracked its movements to a well fortified camp in the forests of Zamfara, a known strength of its criminal network. A joint work force, which included elite terrestrial troops, combat aircraft of the Air Force and recognition units, launched a quick and devastating assault on its camp.

In the course of the operation, military sources report that aerial bombings successfully neutralized key positions, cutting the exhaust routes. The terrestrial forces dedicated themselves to intense exchanges of shooting with Dan Isihu's men.

After several hours of resistance, the leader of the bandits was injured and then died in the Danjibga forest. His combatants, who left without leadership, began to flee in disorder.

A military officer involved in the operation described the moment of victory: “We knew that the battle was over when their men began to flee. We had been committed to them for four days, and when we knew that it had been injured, it was clear that the mission was almost complete.”

The death of Kachallah Dan Isihu is seen as a great victory in the ongoing battle of Nigeria against the bandider. It provides a rare moment of relief for residents of the affected regions, but the security forces have warned that their operations will continue until all criminal groups are neutralized.

The success of Operation Fansan Yanma underlines continuous efforts to claim security in northwest Nigeria and serves as a marked reminder that organized criminal elements can be dismantled through sustained military action.
