Ballon d’Or: Aguero selects player who outshined Mbappe for the award

Must Read

Former Argentina soccer player, Sergio Aguero, believes that Vinicius Junior will win this year’s Ballon d’Or, even though he didn’t do well in the 2024 Copa America.

Vinicius helped his team by scoring two goals and helping Brazil reach the knockout rounds of the tournament.

However, Vinicius couldn’t play in the quarter-finals because he was suspended, and Brazil lost to Uruguay.

Before Copa America, many people thought Vinicius would win the Ballon d’Or because he played so well for Real Madrid. His team won both LaLiga and the Champions League. Aguero still thinks Vinicius has a good chance to win.

Aguero said, “Ballon d’Or? Vinicius didn’t disappear at Copa America. It’s just that Brazil is having a hard time, and he needs good teammates.”

“I look at the whole season, and Vinicius had an amazing season. This year, he played better than Mbappé,” Aguero added.

“This doesn’t mean he’s a better player than Mbappé. But for this season, he was better.”

“In my opinion, Mbappé is overall a more complete player. But this season, every time Vinicius got the ball in the middle of the field, he was very dangerous.”

“When teams defend well, it’s hard for Mbappé. But Vinicius has more skills in those situations.”

“This year, Vinicius and Bellingham were very important for Real Madrid. I really like Bellingham and wish he could win the Ballon d’Or, but we have to admit Vinicius was much better this season.”
