Kano State Police said that five police officers died in a bad car accident in Karfi town, Kura Local Government Area.
The police spokesman, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, told us on Tuesday that 11 other officers got hurt in the accident.
“The accident happened in Karfi, which is not too far from Kano. Five officers died because of the accident and 11 others got hurt,” he said.
“We found out that the police officers’ car crashed head-on into a trailer in Karfi.
“Five officers died right there at the crash scene. The 11 hurt officers were taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital. They are being treated and cared for there,” he added.
