Must Read

The Niger State Police Boss, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, decided to get rid of some dangerous bombs and explosive devices found in the state. These things were found during security operations with other safety groups.

He mentioned this during a talk in Minna, saying the bombs were those collected from 2021 to 2023.

They destroyed these dangerous bombs on August 22, 2024, near a place called Zuma Rock in Suleja. This action was led by SP Mohammed Mamun, who manages the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit of the police team.

He pointed out that this act is part of making the state safer for everyone.

Some of the things they found included four pipe-like explosives buried underground at Galadima-Kogo, Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) on September 27, 2021. They also found explosives hidden in empty shells that looked like military missiles and a 5kg cooking gas cylinder at Mutun-Daya, Shiroro LGA on February 11, 2022.

In addition, they found explosives hidden in a 10-litre jerrycan, three suspected military hand grenades, and an oddly shaped explosive device in the Gbeganu area of Minna on October 24, 2023.
