In Jigawa State, the police have caught a man named Babangida Abubakar. They believe he stole electric wires in Kaugama local government area.
DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the police spokesperson, told the news people about the arrest.
The police got news that someone damaged a big electric wire along Ubba road in Kaugama.
Police teams were sent to the area, especially along the highways from Hadejia to Kano and Hadejia to Nguru.
According to DSP Adam, “With good and reliable information, the brave police officers from Guri Divisional Police Headquarters suspected and arrested Babangida Abubakar. He is from Hadejia and lives in Nguru, Yobe state, and they think he is involved in the incident.”
When the police questioned Babangida at the Divisional Crime Branch, he admitted doing it. He also told them about another person, Abdullahi Isma’il from Nguru, Yobe State, who received the stolen wire. The police then arrested Abdullahi too.
The investigation showed that Babangida had been convicted for this same crime before.
